There is no doubt about the fact that far too many people eat far too much food.

The statistics on obesity and diabetes confirm that but a walk in public will soon make you aware of the fact that there are many people who are overweight and the consequence of that is a reduction in their lifespan.

Most people eat too much, even those who think they have a reasonable diet.

By reducing our food intake many factors change that will help to increase life expectancy.

Imagine the reduction in the workload of the digestive system if we ate 40% less food which just happens to be the figure that has been determined as the excess food consumed by the average person in the western world.

Other body parts would also have less work to do including the liver, and the arteries would become less clogged allowing the heart to do less work.

We would age slower as every part of the body would be functioning more easily and the net effect of that would be an extension of life.

Tests in laboratories with rats and other animals have shown tremendous improvements in many areas of their health, energy and memory when they have been fed a diet with restricted calories.

These signs of aging such as energy and memory loss can all be improved just as they were for the laboratory animals with changes to our diet.

Even small changes can have a large effect over time.

Replacing foods that are high in calories, such as anything containing sugar, or foods that are full of fat such as fried food and takeaways, with more nutritious foods will not only lower your calorie intake but will be more satisfying where you won't feel hungry as often and that will help to stop the habit of overeating.

Things to do to Live Healthy while Aging

Aging is a natural process we all will face someday. As we age our bodies starts to decline producing natural resources that we all need. As the body declines, aging symptoms develop including wrinkles, crowfeet, weight gain, weight loss, cellulite, and so on. To reduce the aging symptoms we must take steps to maintain our health.

The do not list:

Don’t exercise before going to bed. Exercise will get you all pumped up and your heart rate goes up, you’ll get yourself going and then you won’t be able to relax. Exercise routines are best done in the morning, since it boosts your energy. When you wake up, work out before you continue your day since you will find it much easier. On the other hand, some people prefer to workout in the afternoon. If this is you, the afternoon is good as well, since it will boost the energy wasted from the earlier part of your day. Don’t overdo it rather work out at your own pace. Do what your body says you can do. You can work out in the evening, only work out an hour or two before you go to bed. You will increase energy, yet by the time you resume for the night you will feel relaxed.

What keeps you awake?

Snoring is something that can keep you awake at night. Sometimes snoring occurs from obesity or sleep disorder and so on. If you have a snoring problem, perhaps visiting your doctor will help you find the answers to your problem. Loosing weight by exercising can give you the activity you need for those bones as well as sleeping and sometimes loosing weight isn’t bad for us either. Your partner may snore as well, which keeps you awake at night. If your partner snores ask him/her to visit, the doctor to find out if a medical condition exists. It’s better to know now, rather than wait until it is too late.

Depression and stress can keep us from getting a restful night of sleep. Try practicing yoga. Yoga will help you develop meditation skills. The skills you acquire will help you to relax. Yoga workouts reduce ugly depressive symptoms, which includes stress. Aromatherapy and listening to music will also help to relax you and lessen that depression and stress.

If you don’t seem to be having any luck with whatever you try and your still waking up in the morning feeling like you haven’t had any sleep forever consult you physician. Talk to your doctor to see if he has any ideas that can help you live healthy. Perhaps your doctor can provide you with healthy sleeping remedies that allow you to sleep peacefully.

Eating healthy:
Eating healthy is another great way to live a healthy aging life. When you eat the proper food groups daily, you are building your body by providing it with vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients it requires to live healthy. As you grow older however, your body will need more of one thing than it will another. Ask your doctor about a diet suitable to help you grow healthy as you age.

Vitamins and herbs are a great way to increase your health and reduce risks of disease. If your body gets the proper vitamins it needs, your body will work to live longer. You have a wide selection of vitamins available to you, yet you should learn about the two groups before taking regimens. Look up the water and fat-soluble. Herbs will provide you a health kit that assists you with healthy aging as well.

Various forms of medication can affect the condition of the skin making it look puffy, lifeless, and dry or various other states depending on the type of medication and the quantities that are being taken.

While there is often nothing that can be done to reduce or eliminate the need for medications improving your overall levels of health can often help to reduce medication requirements in some people.

Even taking sleeping pills in an effort to cope with insomnia can affect the condition of the skin particularly if they have been used for long periods of time. Obviously there are more effective methods to cope with these types of problems where yoga and meditation will work better than sleeping pills without the side effects that will affect aging.

Taking pills for headaches that are related to over indulging in alcohol consumption will affect the skin when remaining hydrated is a better solution and drinking in moderation will stop you having to cope with the consequences in the first place.

Over time, many forms of medication will affect the aging process and anywhere that you can eliminate medication while maintaining good health will help to keep the skin looking better and slow down the aging process.

You will need to look at this in a sensible manner as coping with any form of pain can place a huge drain in the body and make a person look older and tired so in such circumstances the right medication that reduces pain can actually make you look younger.

Each situation needs to be viewed by the way that it will affect your individual requirements and managed accordingly.

Anything other than good natural products can be expected to have some affect on the condition of your health and ultimately your skin which determines how old others believe you to be and how young you will feel in yourself.

Vitamin E and Healthy Aging

Did you know that at least 200 UI daily of vitamin E can help fight various diseases? Studies found that alpha tocopherol, or Vitamin E has proven to fight particular diseases. Studies show that Vitamin E may help with oxygen preserving and potentially offers cure for various disease. Taking 200 IU daily may trim down up to 40% or more of oxygen preserves, which controls bodily organs and the heart. The vitamin seems to have a “anti-coagulant” that has proven to support the overall bodily functions. Vitamin E was discovered to reduce blood clotting and can help prevent heart disease.

The vitamin is said to assist with dilating flowing blood vessels. This means the heart will receive the blood flow it deserves to stay healthy. Vitamin E has also been linked to an anti-aging solution. Many doctors believe that this helpful vitamin will stabilize a person’s overall development or maturity. In fact, German doctors called Vitamin E the fountain of youth. In extensive studies, vitamin E was found to promote blood flow. According to the findings, Vitamin E when present is an resister to aging.

Vitamin E is linked to promoting hemoglobin. Since aging has an unknown affect on blood cells and bone marrow, doctors believe that Vitamin E’s support to hemoglobin is a potential solution to solving disease related to hemoglobin. Our hemoglobin structure detains oxygen for an extended time, which means that oxygen will flow smoothly. Vitamin E has been linked to reduced risks of disease, since it is said that oxygen will stay within the cavities of hemoglobin at a lengthier time. This means that the person will live a healthy, youthful life.

Sometimes as we grow older, the blood that forms in our system slows. Vitamin E works to allow blood to flow smoothly. In view of the facts, doctors found that this vitamin may reduce the risks of anemia. Vitamin E was discovered to perhaps purify the blood, which allows it to flow smooth throughout the body. As we grow older, our body experiences many changes, which prompts aging plaques. These plaques when build will cause wrinkling, sagging, crowfeet, and other aging signs. Vitamin E works to maintain metabolism by potentially keeping away fatty acids, which are saturated. (Learn more about hydrocarbons and peroxides, which are aging toxins)

At what time saturated fats join with Vitamin E to slow aging. We need a degree of fatty acids, yet when the acids build it creates elements that promote aging. Vitamin E has shown signs of controlling the blood fats, keeping the fats at bay. Blood fat is also linked to aging. Therefore, we can see that vitamin E has much to offer. Yet, some experts argue that Vitamin E has side-effects that could cause harm; many other experts uphold the ability of support that Vitamin E offers.

Vitamin E has also shown signs of reducing ailments of the muscles. The healthy regimen of vitamin E daily according to experts can reduce arthritic symptoms. According to experts, arthritis and its sister components may link to rapid aging.

Vitamin E has shown to reduce leg cramps. In fact, studies were conducted by qualifying doctors who tested their patients. The patients complained of leg cramp, which doctors recommended Vitamin E. During this particular study the patient who ceased Vitamin E reported cramping in the legs. The patient was asked to start up the vitamin once more and when he returned to visit his doctor, the leg cramps ceased. The studies were conducted at the California or American Colleges of Physician. To learn more about vitamin E and what it can do for you, research your topic to find your purpose.

What do most people do when they are stressed? They frown. And when you frown a lot and for a long time those frown lines and the associated wrinkles on your brow become permanent fixtures on your face and the wrinkles make you look older.

Have you ever noticed how people with very little stress in their life look a lot younger than others of the same age?

It is not only the effect that the stress has on the lines of your face but also the way that it affects your health as a whole and that can age you considerably.

Stress can deplete you of nutrients in the body and this will have a negative affect on your skin, nails and hair.

Hair can start thinning in times of stress and fall out and often the hair loss becomes permanent. With a change in your chemical makeup due to the stress your hair can suddenly turn gray too.

Nails can become brittle and lose their condition.

Skin can become dry, flaky and other skin irritations and problems can occur, some of them causing permanent damage to the skin.

Blood pressure can rise and diets can change due to the increased need to boost energy levels. Often the choices of these energy boosters are not the best and energizing drinks or high carbohydrate foods are chosen for an instant lift. These soon turn into a weight problem where the percentage of fat in the body increases and the metabolism slows down.

If things continue along this path diabetes is something that will be an issue.

That is just a quick summary of some of the things that stress can cause to happen and it becomes very clear when reading that why stress is detrimental for anyone trying to look and stay young.

One problem quickly leads to another and before long there are more problems to contend with that increase the stress levels even more.

To stay young you need to lead a stress free life and when there is no way to avoid stress you need ways to cope with it so it has the least impact on your life.

What does gray hair say about a person?

To most people they associate gray hair with aging and even though many people start going gray at a very early age it is generally older people who have graying hair.

From a lack of specific nutrients to genetic factors there are several reasons why a person's hair starts turning gray but there is one thing for certain - coloring your hair can make you look considerably younger.

Even if you haven't gone gray simply changing the color of your hair can transform your looks and make you look a lot younger.

It is commonplace for men to color their hair these days and frosting or adding highlights can give a man an altogether different look.

Specific hair styles can make you look younger too and keeping up with current trends helps to make a person look 'modern' and young.

Adding 'life' to your hair also adds life to your whole persona and that makes people associate you with a younger age group.

Get advice and recommendations from a good hairdresser who is up with the current trends and who also knows how to apply those trends to your age group so you actually look younger rather than just looking like you are old and trying to look young.

There are some very effective products on the market that can help you if you have thinning hair or if you are losing hair. The best solutions for hair loss are prescription products such as Propecia but there are also many natural hair stimulants that are very effective for some people.

Some of the better shampoos are designed to add body to your hair and some can also stimulate the blood supply to the scalp that will reduce hair loss and in some circumstances stimulate new growth.

If there are no answers to your hair loss then you can style your hair accordingly to make it look less obvious and for men it is trendy now to have a shaven head so that is something to consider.

You should always make the most of any situation.

When people say they are having their beauty sleep they are certainly telling the truth.

Sleep can do more for anti aging than many other factors combined as this is a time when the body recovers and regenerates.

With a lack of sleep the body doesn't get a chance to recover from the rigors of the day and slowly but surely your state of health with degenerate.

As we become more and more tired from a lack of sleep other things are needed to help us make it through the day and they often come in the form of low value, high sugar energy drinks and high carb junk foods that give a temporary burst until hunger strikes again and another fattening mouthful of food is required.

Soon the combination of a lack of sleep and poor nutrition leads to sedentary lifestyle where there is no time, energy or inclination for exercise and the downward spiral of poor health continues to increase the aging process.

Without sufficient sleep you can't hope to look your best and soon the muscles under the skin will become tired and the skin will lose its elasticity. The face will begin to sag and you will look tired and older.

Sleep deprivation will cause the body to store more fat and that will also make you look older. The fitter and healthier you can remain the younger you will look and it is not possible to be at your optimum level of health when you are trying to get by without enough sleep.

Insomnia affects a large portion of the population and the fast lifestyle that we all lead and the financial stress that many people are under these days certainly adds to the problems we have relaxing however there are many good resources available that can help people overcome insomnia.

When you look at someone and try to determine how old they are there are various different areas that you will look at as signs of age.

You will look at hair color and/or lack of hair. You will look at teeth discoloration and even such things as posture but there is one thing that will show a persons age more than anything else and that is their skin.

Your skin is a mirror of your lifestyle and the choices you have made thus far in your life.

Discoloration and blotches are a sign of age and the way that hormones change over the years and also a sign of years of exposure to the sun.

Dry skin is a sign of dehydration and this can also lead to flaky skin and various other problems that people will associate with aging.

Dehydrated skin will also be more prone to wrinkles and add another factor to the aging process. The skin loses it's flexibility as we age and good nutrition, water and the use of good quality skin care products will help to slow down the aging process and make you look younger.

By using good skin care products you can wind back the body clock and keep that area of the body that is so telling on your age in the best condition possible.

We all have different skin types, from oily to dry and all different combinations in between so it will often take some experimentation before you find the right products for your skin. There will be products that you might not be able to use due to various skin sensitivities and so on. Once you find a product that suits your skin type it is wise to stick with it while it is working for you but always be aware that as you age you might need to change some of the products that you use simply because your skin will change with age and you will need to address changing aspects of it over time.

Where the skin is in a state of disrepair and laser treatment isn't sufficient to fix the problems then it might be necessary to consider having a photo facial.

Photo facials have the ability to make a more positive impact on the repair of deep seated skin problems that laser can't often treat such as scarring, rosacea, broken capillaries and pigmentation problems that haven't responded to laser treatment.

By delivering the treatment through the use of varying levels of wavelengths a photo facial can penetrate deeper into the skin and fix problems that other treatments can't help.

The more treatments you get the better the results will be and it is generally recommended that a course of treatments will be necessary for optimum improvements to the skin.

The treatments don't take long at all - usually about 30 minutes and you can return to work immediately afterwards. It is necessary to wear a sunscreen after treatment when venturing outside but that is a habit that you should have already if you intend to look your best as you age.

For some people with sensitive skin there can be a drying of the skin after treatment and commonly there can be redness that will go away after a short time.

The rejuvenating effect that photo facials can have may surprise some people as the results are often better than expected and the changes are fast compared with other alternative methods.

You will need to do some research before booking your treatment as it is only as good as the person doing it so recommendations from other happy customers are your best bet for a good result.

The initial consultation should include a thorough checkup of your skin and a discussion of any factors that concern you such as sensitivities that could affect the final outcome.

While blood pressure is a very common problem for people as they age this is not to say that it is something that we should accept as normal.

Often referred to as the silent killer, hypertension (high blood pressure) is the reason why a good deal of the population don't reach the age that they should expect.

High blood pressure is caused by constriction of the arteries which makes it harder for the heart to pump blood through the body.

When the blood isn't flowing freely to all areas of the body the result of this lack of oxygen to the tissues is increased aging.

In addition to this accelerated aging there are the other factors of heart and kidney disease and strokes that can result in early death.

With high blood pressure, due to the fact that the heart has to work harder to pump the blood around the body, this increased pressure causes more hardening of the arteries which makes it all the harder on the heart to maintain the blood supply.

By avoiding the danger foods that can cause high blood pressure such as salt, caffeine, sugar and refined grains you will be helping to reduce the chance of getting high blood pressure and in doing so increase your chances of living longer.

Reducing the stress in your life will also help as will getting enough sleep regularly

Essential fats will help you maintain better health and garlic has been shown to reduce blood pressure.

Exercise will help to lower blood pressure and you will also get all the other benefits that exercise brings with it such as improved muscle tone, lower body fat, and usually a more positive outlook on life that will also lower stress levels.

If your blood pressure is high then you will need medication to get it to more acceptable levels but you should still make the necessary lifestyle changes that can eventually help you to get off the medication and lead a healthy and long life.

While you can spend a lot of money on your teeth they are one of the main areas where you can improve to make yourself look a lot younger.

Age affects the teeth in many ways including chips, gaps opening, missing teeth and discoloration from smokes, coffee, tea, red wine and some of the foods that we eat.

Improving the condition of your teeth will help to make you look years younger as they are one of the main focal points that people will notice when they first meet you.

Discoloration isn't all that hard to remove with the use of laser whitening and having clear white teeth can transform your look.

There are other less expensive ways of whitening your teeth including various different home kits where you can do it yourself. Don't expect to get the same results as quick as you will get from your dentist as the home kits have weaker solutions that take a lot longer to work. They also have mouth guards to hold the solution that are designed to suit the average person and as such they won't work as well as a guard that has been created specifically for your mouth by your dentist.

A fitted guard from your dentist will allow you to wear it at night while keeping the whitening gel in place and by having your teeth in this gel for extended periods of time you will get more benefits as lot sooner.

Laser whitening is an even faster process for whitening your teeth and it is relatively cost effective considering the improvement that can be made to your teeth.

If you have chipped teeth or missing teeth then you can spend thousands of dollars getting your teeth capped. If you can afford this then well and good because you will be able to have nice straight white teeth even if they are in disrepair and that can make you look considerably younger.

Many people consider this is a better investment for their looks than a face lift.

Without a doubt the best way to looker younger, feel younger and live longer is by exercising on a regular basis and maintaining a better state of health.

You don't need to do excessive exercise, and in fact too much exercise can actually make you look aged.

Look at people participating in sports such as marathon running and you will notice that many of them look considerably older than they actually are simply because they are exposing their bodies to excessive stress and also because they are exercising outside for long periods of time their skin becomes 'weather beaten' and aged.

Everything should be done in moderation if you are looking for the best results where you get the benefit of the exercise and also the anti aging and health factors that are associated with the correct fitness programs.

There are many types of exercise that will give you considerable benefit for anti aging and they can range from tai chi which is excellent for both young and old people to various different forms of resistance training that is also suitable for most age groups but needs to be monitored with elderly people to ensure they don't get any injuries.

Resistance training when used correctly has many benefits that can help you to look younger. Apart from the benefits of toning the body, the tension that you get in your face muscles when doing the exercises can act in a similar manner to a face life and many people don't realize that the biggest change that you can get from a face life is from the muscles under the skin.

Resistance training will also reduce the percentage of fat in the body which in turn will make you look younger as a firm fat free body is a condition that most people associate with youth.

You often heard the saying ;"you are what you eat" and there is a lot of truth in that statement.

The choices of foods that you eat will go a long way in determining the condition of your body and skin and naturally this will reflect on your appearance and the age others assume you to be.

You can't hope to look young and healthy if you live on a diet of burgers, fries and soda drinks.
Your skin will be lacking the essential nutrients that are necessary for it to look in top condition.
You will probably be overweight and while there are many (far too many) young people who are overweight it is a state that many people associate with aging.

The condition of your skin is affected by the food and drink that you consume and it is essential that you get all the necessary nutrients required and in the correct balance to maintain optimum health. If there are any aspects of this lacking in your diet then the imbalance can affect your skin making it appear lifeless and dry.

A lack of essential elements in your diet can also cause blotches and discoloration on your skin and that is something that many people experience with aging so it will also make you look aged. Your skin will lose its elasticity and will begin to sag sooner than necessary and this in turn will make you look older than you should.

A lack of the correct nutrition will also affect the condition of your hair and nails. Your hair will go gray sooner and that will make you look older unless you have it colored and your nails will become brittle and be harder to maintain in good healthy condition. What goes on inside your body is shown to the entire world on the outside so you had better watch your nutrition if you want to look younger for longer.

Yoga is one of the most effective ways to make you look and feel younger and can add years to your life with better health, strength and flexibility.

Yoga is suitable for all ages and all health conditions and almost everyone will get some positive benefits from doing yoga on a regular basis.

Yoga is one of the most effective methods of reducing stress, along with meditation and anything that will reduce the effects that stress can have on your mind and body will make you look and feel younger.
Yoga Anatomy
There are various different types of yoga and you can choose the one that suits your needs the most from the simplest exercises that will help you to relax to the advanced exercises that will help you get a toned body and help to wind back the years.

Yoga helps to improve your blood circulation and that will make your skin condition look and be healthier. Even certain inverted exercises will increase the blood flow to the scalp and this can assist with the reduction of hair loss in some people.

Increased flexibility will help to reduce muscular and joint pain and a reduction in pain can help with a reduction of frown lines that are common with people who suffer from constant pain.

Yoga helps the digestive system and this will help to get the maximum benefits from the food that you eat and in doing so improve overall health and nutrition which will be reflected in good skin condition.

By bringing about a balance in both mind and body yoga can do more for the aging process than a hospital full of surgeons. You should consider trying it as it can be done freely at home without the cost of gym fees; it is convenient and scaleable according to your fitness levels.
